Great quote...

Ok so I really like the movie "He's Just Not That Into You." I know a lot of people hate that movie, but it's my movie that I watch when I'm sick of how the dating world seems to work. The quote at the very end of the movie sums up things perfectly and I love it...

"Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up: if a boy punches you he likes you, never try to trim your own bangs, and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending. every movie we see, every story we're told implores us to wait for it: the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule. but sometimes we're so focused on finding our happy ending we don't learn how to read the signs. how to tell the ones who want us from the ones who don't, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave. and maybe a happy ending doesn't include a guy, maybe it's you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. maybe the happy ending is just moving on. or maybe the happy ending is this: knowing after all the unreturned phone calls and broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment... you never gave up hope."

I also have an amazing friend who gave me this advice this morning...

"well i have unfortunately learned stuff about dating the hard way as well over the past couple of years.
but as much as some of my run ins with people have sucked, it does make me much more excited about the type of person that could be in my future.
unfortunately dealing with total jerks sucks, but you gain a much better understanding of people and what you want in a relationship.
i think sometimes God puts challenges in front of you so that when the right person does come along, you can recognize it and be all the more grateful when they arrive.
it has taken a lot of convincing to get me to believe this but i think it is true"

Once again I'm thankful for my amazing friends that are there to pick me up when I'm down.
